1. Trenton Trash Haulers(83-38)--The Trash Haulers have improved leaps and bounds. For the first time since season 12 they find themselves not only in the playoffs, but serious favorites from the NL to get to the World Series.

2. Chicago Black Sox(80-41)--Chicago is easily the best team in the AL this season and the odds on favorite to represent in the World Series. They have a dominant young nucleus that has developed into one of the best offenses in the world.

3. Colorado Springs Sky Sox(70-51)--The Sky Sox are once again the kings of the AL West. They are led by the leagues best offense scoring runs at an alarming pace.

4. Atlanta Braves(69-52)--The Braves franchise hasn't had a winning season since season 5. This once basement dweller franchise has been in a division with perennial contenders and is now beating all three of them. 8thdeadlysin has done a great job of turning this team around.

5. Louisville Sluggers(67-54)--The Sluggers have found themselves not pitching like they are used to this season. They have struggled some in that department, but the leagues best defense coupled with a resurgence in offense has kept them relevant after a struggling first half of the season.

6. Boston EliteDucks(68-53)--Not many franchises can withstand losing Craig Velandia, who could end up being the best player ever in this world, and still be a serious playoff contender. Boston is a great organization.

7. Baltimore Bayhawks(67-54)--Baltimore is a team built around some excellent pitching with very solid hitting. They are in a very tough division, being the 3rd team now coming out of the NL East.

8. San Diego Blue Sox(67-54)--San Diego once again has the league's best pitching staff and one of the worst if not worst offense. They are in an extreme pitcher's park, but they play it to the best of their advantage.

9. Dover Gryphons(69-52)--Dover is the 4th team to be named in the power rankings out of the NL East. This is a dominant division. Dover has had a very good pitching staff overall, supported by a solid offense to score just enough runs to get them winning.

10. Detroit Grass Lakes(67-54)--The Grass Lakes have a great pitching staff that is the third best in the league. SS Julio Beltre is a decent glove, but not much of a hitter. 39 year old DH/C Carlos Ibarra is years past his prime. his last decent season was 16. 37 year old Jumbo Neruda might still hit a bit, but is in serious decline. 3B Julio Guerrero is 35 and also in decline. P David Perez could be a decent LR, but 59 DUR won't get him thru the 5th inning as a SP. Matty Cedeno looks like he should hit 30+ HRs in full time duty, but can only play DH. SP Rico Espinoza is a nice signing who is over .500 lifetime, but 18 DUR means he won't be able to go every 5th day. I can't see journeyman 36 year old SP Earle Broome being able to take the mound very often with 13 DUR. At one time Malcolm Sandberg could be counted on for double digit wins, but at 39 those days are long in the past. Nothing more than LR now, but will be needed with other SPs having such low DUR. Unfortunately, his 16 DUR precludes him from taking the ball too often also. Harry Alicea is another guy on the downside, but
at least he's still got some gas in the tank and should post some decent numbers.
But enough gloom and doom. Let's look at some bright spots. C Joe Quinn is coming off a decent platoon rookie season(.280 BA). 1B James Broussard ratings look like they should produce better numbers than they have. Rookie 2B A.J. May has some pop(76 PWR) but low vR and BE may be a problem. Not sure much more can be expected of 3B John Itou than last years numbers. SS Wladimir Piedra is a slick fielder(20 + plays) and should hit a bit better. Young 1B/LF Troy Price played well after being traded to KC last season and should improve. Rookie CF Mitch Rollins is out of position there, but has a good eye, decent speed, and good BR that may translate into some SBs. LF Luis Francisco had 26 HRs, but will mis the first 2 months with an injury. This is a danger I try to avoid by not playing my starters too much in ST.
Rotation includes Cesar Mesa, who might reach double digit wins, Willie Moreno, who won't, and journeyman Tommy Schultz. Closer Trever Stratton(20 Svs) looks decent. They are unfortunate to be in a division with 3 teams who won 90+ games last year, and whlile mburgy is trying to make improvements, signing a lot of 35+ year old FAs is not the way to rebuild a franchise. torronehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05350993475954240521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1888797058806769034.post-69176882392901874482012-04-02T21:15:00.003-05:002012-04-02T22:15:55.322-05:00HOF NOMINEES!LOCKS
1. Olmedo Rivas Rivas is the worlds reigning career HR champion with 767 homers. New York Torrones(78-44)--The Torrones are having a great season. They have the top fielding team backing a top 5 pitching staff that is supported by a very good offense.
Previously Ranked: 1st (E)

2. Colorado Springs Sky Sox(74-48)--The Sky Sox are led by AU best offense in the league. They also have a top 10 pitching staff supporting them making them one of the best teams in the world.
Previously Ranked: 2nd(E)

3. Chicago Black Sox(78-44)--The Black Sox have not had a winning season since season 10, but they are on pace to have one of the best records in the whole world. Led by a great pitching staff and defense they look to stop New York's recent dominance of the AL East.
Previously Ranked: 4th(+1)

4. Louisville Sluggers(76-46)--Louisville has relied on a great pitching staff this season. The offense has been effective, but still has been a bit of a disappointment so far this season. Still this team will look to try and win the AL South and fend off New Orleans and Florida once again.
Previously Ranked: 3rd(-1)

5. Detroit Grass Lakes(74-48)--Detroit has been the class of the NL so far this season. With rankings in the top 10 in pitching, offense, and defense the Grass Lakes don't have too much of a weakness anywhere. They will look to finish strong down the stretch with Buffalo hot on their heals.
Previously Ranked: 6th(+1)

6. Florida Fire Sailfish(72-50)--The Fire Sailfish have been holding steady in the very competitive AL South all season. They are one steak away from taking over control of the division and with their offense that is always something to be concerned about for the rest of the AL.
Previously Ranked: 9th(+3)

7. New Orleans Freebeads(73-49)--The Freebeads are the third team from the AL South in the Power Rankings. They have a very good club that is also ranked in the top 10 in all categories: offense, defense, and pitching. They keep hanging close and are also one nice streak away from taking the lead in the AL South as well.
Previously Ranked: 5th(-2)

8. Buffalo Wings(70-52)--The Wings are led by a top 5 pitching staff that is supported by a very solid offense. They are trying to take over the NL North and keep their streak of division titles going.
Previously Ranked: 8th(E)

9. Boston EliteDucks(68-54)--Boston once again has one of the best offenses in AU. Their pitching staff has kind of dropped off a little bit though this season. Still the 3 time defending AU champion should not be taken lightly and will be a strong presence down the stretch.
Previously Ranked: 7th(-2)

10. San Antonio Chupacabras(69-53)--San Antonio has succeeded behind a very solid pitching staff. If they can muster up enough offense then they could be able to suprise some teams come playoff time.
Previously Ranked: 10th(E)davidbulter9http://www.blogger.com/profile/10003869019068814696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1888797058806769034.post-27163388748338304342012-02-09T12:47:00.002-05:002012-02-09T12:53:41.549-05:00DRUTES ELECTED!!!Congratulations to drutes for being elected the 3rd member of the Owners Hall of Fame! drutes collected 37 of 40 possible points with a total of 7 out of 10 first place votes. drutes has had a great career so far in Addicted Users. Louisville Sluggers(62-29)--The Sluggers are led by 8 all-stars this season. None have been more important than 2-time pitcher of the week Harry Velazquez. Velazquez struggled a little bit out of the gate, but he has been unstoppable since then!
Previously Ranked: 1st(E)

2. Boston EliteDucks(66-25)--Boston has ust been crushing the ball. With 7 all-stars on this years squad, none are more important than Craig Velandia!
Previously Ranked: 2nd(E)

3. New Orleans Freebeads(59-32)--The Freebeads are still breathing down Louisville's neck. This has the makings of a great division race as we enter the second half. The Freebeads have 4 all-stars led by power hitting youngster Erubiel Pineda.
Previously Ranked: 3rd(E)

4. Cincinnati Knights(59-32)--The Knights have been the hottest team in the AL over the past week. They are led by 3 all-stars with Ronnie Patrick finally having his breakout season it looks like.
Previously Ranked: 6th(+2)

5. Florida Fire Sailfish(53-38)--Florida is quietly having an excellent season. They are led by 2 all-stars, one of them being power hitting CF David Olivo.
Previously Ranked: 5th(E)

6. Chicago Black Sox(49-42)--Chicago seems to be starting to pull away from the rest of their division as we enter the all-star break. That could change though as their season has had some ups and downs. They are led by 3 all-stars and dominant closer Reagan Murray.
Previously Ranked: 9th(+3)

7. Colorado Springs Sky Sox(49-42)--The Sky Sox are led by lone all-star Trent Crane and a very good offense.
Previously Ranked: NR

8. San Diego Blue Sox(48-43)--San Diego is making their debut in the Power Rankings this season. They have a great pitching staff. Surprisingly they only have 1 all-star, Yank Watkins.
Previously Ranked: NR

9. Buffalo Wings(51-40)--The Wings are playing some very good baseball as they take over the top spot in the NL North going into the all-star break. With 2 all-stars they are led by youngster Carlos Arias.
Previously Ranked: 10th(+1)

10. Jackson Jaywalkers(51-40)--The Jaywalkers are the hottest team in AU over the past week. They are led by 2 all-stars, one of them being starter Bob Kelly.
Previously Ranked: NR

Dropping out: New York Torrones, Baltimore Bullets, and Salem Senatorsdavidbulter9http://www.blogger.com/profile/10003869019068814696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1888797058806769034.post-40657945633396947822011-09-19T19:24:00.002-05:002011-09-19T19:51:31.648-05:002nd Power Rankings of Season 201. Louisville Sluggers(49-23)--The Sluggers are top 5 in runs scored, ERA, and fielding percentage. They have another dominate team that should make the playoffs.
Previously Ranked:3rd(+1)

2. Boston EliteDucks(53-19)--The EliteDucks continue to be one of the top teams in AU. They have great players. The gap does seem to be narrowing a bit though in the NL.
Previously Ranked: 2nd(E)

3. New Orleans Freebeads(47-25)--The two-time defending AL pennant winners are playing even better baseball this year it seems. New Orleans has one of the best offenses in the league and are breathing down Louisville's neck for the divsion lead.
Previously Ranked: NR

4. Salem Senators(48-24)--The Senators are lead by, easily, the best pitching staff in the majors. They have timely hitting to help with that and will give Boston a run in the playoffs this year.
Previously Ranked: 6th(-2)

5. Florida Fire Sailfish(42-30)--The Sailfish play in a very tough division and would be in first place in about half of the other divisions. They play very good team baseball using every part(offense, pitching, and defense) to get the job done.
Previously Ranked: NR

6. Cincinnati Knights(45-27)--The Knights, whose franchise has never won the AL North, have positioned themselves to be the favorites in this division almost halfway through the season. Billpitt has turned this team into viable contenders that slug the ball with the best of them.
Previously Ranked: 4th(-2)

7. New York Torrones(39-33)--New York has been playing better ball as of late. The Torrones got off to a bad start this season, but seem to have turned it around so far. Their offense will need a little more help from their pitching to make a run at another division title.
Previously Ranked: NR

8. Baltimore Bullets(42-30)--The Bullets are lead by a very good pitching staff that needs some help offensively if they want to contend once they get into the playoffs.
Previously Ranked: NR

9. Chicago Black Sox(40-32)--The Black Sox are the current division leaders in the AL East but have fallen on tough times recently. If they can right the ship could they win this division away from torrone?
Previously Ranked: 1st(-8)

10. Buffalo Wings(40-32)--The Wings have traditionally been led by a much better pitching staff. If they can get their staff back where it should be then with their offense they could run away with the division again. First things first though, they must jump the Cleveland Penguins!
Previously Ranked: 8th(-2)

Dropping out: Anaheim Hasselhoffs, Detroit Grass Lakes, Jackson Jaywalkers, and Washington D.C. What an amazing accomplishment.

We would also like to congratulate Billy Ledee, of the Washington D.C. Abnormals, on hitting his 500th HR earlier this season! That is quite a feat!

Additionally B.C. Garland, of the New York Torrones, has recorded his 300th save during the am cycle. Garland has been a model of consistency for the Torrones locking down the back end of his bullpen.davidbulter9http://www.blogger.com/profile/10003869019068814696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1888797058806769034.post-57124052380343206542011-09-02T22:19:00.002-05:002011-09-02T22:50:04.821-05:001st Power Rankings of Season 20!!!1. Chicago Black Sox(18-8)--The upstart Black Sox have surprised everyone jumping out to a very hot start here in the early going. They have a very good offense that is supplemented by a solid pitching staff.

2. Boston EliteDucks(19-7)--Sporting the best record in AU so far, the 2-time defending champs have an excellent top 5 pitching staff and just missed out having a top 5 offense so far this season. Look for the EliteDucks to dominate again all season long.

3. Louisville Sluggers(16-10)--The Sluggers got off to a rocky start, but they have started to turn that back around. They have a top 5 offense and pitching staff and fully expect to be in the thick of the AL South division race.

4. Cincinnati Knights(17-9)--The Knights have gotten off to an excellent start as well surprising the AL North a little I think. Billpitt has his team slugging their way to some wins. If they can get their pitching staff together then the AL North will need to be worried.

5. Anaheim Hasselhoffs(17-9)--Anaheim is lead by AU's best pitching staff so far in this very young season 20. If their offense gets going and supplements that staff then this team could steal the division away.

6. Salem Senators(15-11)--Salem has started the season off well. They are again led by a very good pitching staff and defense that will need just enough from their offense to take this team to the playoffs!

7. Detroit Grass Lakes(17-9)--The Grass Lakes are also lead by a top 5 pitching staff. Their defense though has not been doing the staff any favors and the offense has been average. If Detroit wants to stay in these rankings they are going to have to pick it up in both of those categories.

8. Buffalo Wings(14-12)--The Wings haven't played spectacular baseball obviously, but they have played solid all around. This team is built to win now and if they can will be a team that can contend for the World Series.

9. Jackson Jaywalkers(15-11)--The Jaywalkers are supported by a top 10 pitching staff and defense. They need some work on offense. If their offense can get going some this team could really contend in their division all season.

10. Washington D.C. Abnormals(16-10)--Washington looks like they are trying to break out into contenders this season. Their offense is very good, but they need to get their pitching staff better if they intend to stay contenders.davidbulter9http://www.blogger.com/profile/10003869019068814696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1888797058806769034.post-11249094664590613662011-08-22T14:39:00.002-05:002011-08-22T14:43:24.652-05:00Breakdown of Hall of Fame votesHere is a list of the HOF votes. For the second straight season they were able to defeat the New Orleans Freebeads. This time it took 7 games though as the Freebeads were able to force a game 7 after falling down 3-1. In the end though keeid12x was able to pull it out. The parade that Boston held was wild, but there were no arrests made as the city of Boston was able to handle themselves (and their liquior) well!davidbulter9http://www.blogger.com/profile/10003869019068814696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1888797058806769034.post-44014278453180037072011-06-25T23:37:00.002-05:002011-06-26T00:44:34.914-05:005th and FINAL Power Rankings of Season 191. Louisville Sluggers(103-47)--With their magic number at 1 the Sluggers hope to get it out of the way and then gear up for the playoffs!
Previously Ranked: 1st(-1)

3. Buffalo Wings(90-60)--The Wings have clinched their division. They still have something to play for though trying to get the bye over Salem.
Previously Ranked: 3rd(E)

4. New Orleans Freebeads(91-59)--The Freebeads are still mathematically in the race for the division and they don't have the wild card wrapped up yet, but it would be a huge upset if they don't end up the 5 seed.
Previously Ranked: 5th(+1)

5. Salem Senators(88-62)--The Senators will look to wrap up their division soon and then zero in on trying to get the first round bye.
Previously Ranked: 8th(+3)

6. Salt Lake City Buzz(87-63)--The Buzz are trying to fend off the Boise Browncoats for the AL West division title. At stake is a first round bye possibly and the loser COULD be on the outside looking in.
Previously Ranked: 7th(+1)

7. New York Torrones(82-68)--Mathematically New York hasn't clinched, but it's just a matter of time before they win this division for the 5th time in the last 6 seasons.
Previously Ranked: 10th(+3)

8. Boise Browncoats(85-65)--Boise has faltered here in the past week or so, but if they can get it together they should be able to make it into the playoffs.
Previously Ranked: 4th(-4)

9. Florida Fire Sailfish(82-68)--Florida has also faltered some in the last week, but they are incredibly talented and it wouldn't be a surprise to see them make a run at the wild card. Bottom line is that one very talented team in the AL isn't going to make it into the playoffs.
Previously Ranked: NR

10. Toronto Toros(80-70)--Talk about a team that is not playing well. The Toros fell from 6th on the power rankings and out of the teams considered for the rankings had the least amount of wins since the last rankings. Goldenboy69 needs a late push to avoid a nasty collapse.
Previously Ranked: 6th(-4)

Dropping out Iowa City Lets Play Twodavidbulter9http://www.blogger.com/profile/10003869019068814696noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1888797058806769034.post-37360406547553647462011-06-22T22:06:00.002-05:002011-06-22T22:21:56.161-05:00Slam Dunk MVP's???!!!Craig Velandia and Rich White are both having superb seasons. Velandia has won the Player of the Week Award 4 out of the 6 weeks. That is just incredible. He also leads Addicted Users in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging, OPS, runs scored, home runs, and walks. In addition to that he's top 5 in RBI's, HBP's and hits. Thats for BOTH leagues. He is just playing out of this world and in my humble opinion is the slam dunk MVP in the National League.

Rich White is having an absolutely incredible season in his own right. In just his 3rd full season for Toronto White has been truly dominant. He leads the Majors in RBI's. He also is in the top 5 in the American League in home runs, triples, runs scored, stolen bases, slugging, and OPS. I think White has the AL MVP award wrapped up as well barring a complete diseaster in the last 15 games or so.davidbulter9http://www.blogger.com/profile/10003869019068814696noreply@blogger.com0
